Volleyball Recap: La Crosse Central Riverhawks vs. Green Bay Preble Hornets
La Crosse Central was the 2-0 winner over Green Bay Preble when they last played one another back in August of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Riverhawks fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 2-1 on Thursday.
Ella Crawford paced La Crosse Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Crawford got some help from Ellie Gillitzer and her 22 assists. Gillitzer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.
Green Bay Preble can attribute much of their success to Sierra Krahn, who had 16 digs and two assists. Those 16 digs gave Krahn a new career-high.
La Crosse Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Green Bay Preble, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
La Crosse Central has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Richland Center on the 28th. As for Green Bay Preble, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Mineral Point on the 28th.
