Basketball Game Preview: Ninnekah Owls vs. Verden Tigers

The Ninnekah Owls will take on the Verden Tigers at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Ninnekah is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

Ninnekah lost 75-52 to Sterling on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Tigers are ranked 79th).

Meanwhile, Verden was fully in charge on Tuesday, breezing past Rush Springs 74-41. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Ninnekah's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Verden, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Ninnekah took their victory against Verden in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 54-31. Will Ninnekah repeat their success, or does Verden have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
