Basketball Recap: Poway Gets the Win

Poway waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They escaped with a win against the Ramona Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 63-62. For the Titans, this counts as revenge for the 57-52 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Ramona lost, don't look at Colin Dillon. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. Those 11 boards gave Dillon a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tayden Bryant, who posted 13 points and three steals.

Poway has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Ramona, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Poway will venture away from home to challenge Mission Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ramona, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on San Pasqual at 7:00 p.m. on January 14th.
