Chowchilla has gone a perfect 3-0 against Immanuel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Tribe will challenge the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Chowchilla will be strutting in after a win while Immanuel will be coming in after a defeat.
Chowchilla took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Sierra. The Tribe might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.
Not much got past Brianna Guardado, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Sierra off the board.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lexyss Sabin, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Hadley Ray, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Sabin wasn't the only one making solid contact: Chowchilla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Tribe are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Immanuel entered their matchup against Kingsburg on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles lost 12-2 to the Vikings. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Eagles, who until this game were averaging 3.31 runs allowed.
Chowchilla pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Immanuel, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4-2.
Both Chowchilla and Immanuel just can't seem to miss. The Tribe have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Immanuel struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chowchilla beat Immanuel 6-3 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tribe since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
