Basketball Game Preview: Temple City Rams vs. South Pasadena Tigers

Temple City hasn't had much luck against South Pasadena recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Temple City Rams will face off against the South Pasadena Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Temple City ended up a good deal behind Blair and lost 63-47. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while the Vikings are ranked 274th).

Meanwhile, South Pasadena had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They managed a 63-59 win over the Spartans.

Temple City better keep an eye on Jack Madison. He was instrumental in South Pasadena's win, going 8 for 14 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. Madison's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Miles Nowe, who posted nine points and six boards.

South Pasadena smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

South Pasadena is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Temple City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-15.

Temple City was dealt a bruising 78-33 loss at the hands of South Pasadena in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Temple City avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
