Football Recap: Springlake-Earth's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Springlake-Earth won the last time they faced Hart and Froylan Agundiz did his part to make sure it happened again. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 52-27 victory on Friday for which the team can thank Agundiz, who rushed for 179 yards and one score while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 150 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, forcing two fumbles, and making eight total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Kaylob Frietze was Agundiz's top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and three TDs. Frietze didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Springlake-Earth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Agundiz and Frietze. Agundiz is also on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last six games he's played.

Springlake-Earth's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Hart, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springlake-Earth will host Nazareth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hart, they will be playing at home against Plainview Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hart will be up against Plainview Classical Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
