Football Recap: Springlake-Earth's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Springlake-Earth had lost four games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-4 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Hart Longhorns as they made off with a 52-27 win. Considering the Wolverines have won three matchups by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Froylan Agundiz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 179 yards and one TD while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 150 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. He has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Kaylob Frietze was Agundiz's top target, picking up 70 receiving yards and three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springlake-Earth was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Springlake-Earth didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Agundiz and Frietze.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hart fell to 5-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Hart still got an impressive performance from Tradien Worsham, who rushed for 135 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. Worsham's longest rush was for an impressive 65 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Yael Soltero was in the mix too, providing Hart with two TDs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springlake-Earth will face off against Nazareth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hart, they will challenge Plainview Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hart will be up against Plainview Classical Academy's rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
