Baseball Recap: Eureka Snags 20th Victory in Last 22 Games

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Eureka ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Morton Potters, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Hornets, who suffered a 4-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Eureka is on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Morton, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eureka will host Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Morton, they will take on Dunlap at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
