Basketball Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Comes Up Short

If Mount Calvary Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 79-27 takedown of New Life Christian Academy on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pitt County P Pacers on Friday.

Despite the loss, Mount Calvary Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jentzen Wade dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Wade is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in each of the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Carson Howell, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Eli Carter went supernova For Pitt County P., going 9-for-17 en route to 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trystian Garza, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 10 points.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Calvary Christian Academy is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Faith Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
