Atlee hasn't had much luck against Hanover recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Atlee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Atlee is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 20 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Deep Run on Tuesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats.
Camdyn Metts made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Izzie Turnauer also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Hanover came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on King George with a sharp 9-1 victory on Monday. The Hawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Hanover let Marisa Sawn and Kaileigh Byars run wild. Sawn fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4, while Byars went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two home runs gave Sawn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Willow Dickenson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Hanover was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .441. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.
Hanover's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Atlee, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Hanover's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Atlee hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. It's a different story for Hanover, though, as they've only averaged .255. Will they be able to contain Atlee's hitters?
Atlee beat Hanover 5-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
