Softball Recap: River Forest Wins Going Away Against Lake Station Edison

River Forest won the last time they faced Lake Station Edison and things went their way on Monday too. The Ingots put the hurt on the Fighting Eagles with a sharp 17-2 win. The Ingots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Lindee Trezak made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, D'Yanna Hurn was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julianna Bailey, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

River Forest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Station Edison only posted a batting average of .133.

River Forest's record is now 6-10. As for Lake Station Edison, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

River Forest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Fighting Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
