Baseball Game Preview: Osakis Silverstreaks vs. Browerville Tigers

Osakis has gone 8-1 against Browerville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Silverstreaks will head out on the road to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Osakis took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against St. John's Prep as they made off with a 12-2 victory. With that win, the Silverstreaks brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Wyatt Klimek made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Klimek was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Seth Staloch was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Osakis is 2-1 when Staloch posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. Carter Johnstone also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Browerville had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let Lake of the Woods get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday.

With the win, Osakis broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-7. As for Browerville, their record now sits at 2-6.

Osakis took their victory against Browerville in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 21-11 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silverstreaks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
