Baseball Recap: Appleton East Takes a Loss

Appleton East's last matchup with Kimberly could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Patriots came up short against the Papermakers, falling 22-5. The Patriots have struggled against the Papermakers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Appleton East's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Kimberly, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Appleton East will head out to take on Oshkosh North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Kimberly, they will take on Monona Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
