Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg Has No Trouble Against Lumberton

Hattiesburg never let their opponents score on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lumberton Panthers as the Hattiesburg Tigers made off with a 13-0 victory. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 12 runs or more this season.

Amari Hill looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, D.J. Johnson was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ramarion Wilson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Hattiesburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Hattiesburg now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Lumberton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2-1.

Coming up, Hattiesburg is taking a road trip to square off against West Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give West Jones their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Lumberton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Perry Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Lumberton's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home while Perry Central has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
