Basketball Recap: Leesville Piles Up the Points Against Pitkin

Leesville waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Pitkin Tigers 56-27. The Wampus Cats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 27 points or more this season.

Leesville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shyann McCummings out in front who posted 17 points. McCummings' morning made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Malaya Williams, who had 15 points.

Leesville now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Pitkin, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-9.

Leesville has already played their next game, a 55-41 loss against Simpson on the 20th. As for Pitkin, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Glenmora at 5:30 p.m. on December 30th.
