Basketball Recap: Perry Meridian Takes a Loss

Perry Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 65-57 to the Franklin Central Flashes. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 61-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Perry Meridian lost, don't look at Bryce Mathis. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 9 to rack up 17 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Mathis now owns an excellent 45.4% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Ezra Ceaser, who posted eight points.

Franklin Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Raymond Hayes led the charge by going 8 of 12 en route to 20 points. Ej Hazelett was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.

Perry Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Franklin Central, their record now sits at 6-9.

Perry Meridian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 72-59 victory against Greenwood on the 31st. As for Franklin Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 77-52 loss against Fishers on the 31st.
