Football Recap: Lafayette Fighting Irish vs. Savannah Savages

Friday just wasn't the day for Lafayette's offense. They took a blow against the Savannah Savages on Friday, falling 53-0. The loss continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their meetings with the Savages: they've now lost six in a row.

A big part of Savannah's victory came down to the chemistry between Caylor Schrick and his top target Makhi King. Schrick threw for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes while King gained 161 total yards and two touchdowns. King got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 65 yards.

Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Savannah, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Lafayette will head out to square off against Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Savannah, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Benton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
