Baseball Recap: Montour Takes a Loss

If Montour was feeling good fresh off their 16-2 takedown of St. Raymond Boys on Sunday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Montour Spartans lost 17-7 to the DePaul College Prep Rams on Monday.

Montour got a big performance out of Sal Magliocco, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Magliocco a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Foley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Montour was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Montour's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Montour will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Canon-McMillan at 5:00 p.m. on March 27th. As for DePaul College Prep, they will challenge Holy Ghost Prep at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
