Baseball Game Preview: Bend Lava Bears vs. Redmond Panthers

For the second straight game, Bend will face off against Redmond. The Lava Bears will challenge the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bend is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Bend barely beat Redmond the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lava Bears' pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lava Bears considering their one-run performance the game before.

Not much got past Cash Hattenhauer, who gave up just three hits to keep Redmond off the board.

On the hitting side, Will Goodman was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Kaden Cooper was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI.

Bend has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Redmond, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11.
