Softball Recap: Grayling Comes Up Short

Grayling has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.14 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They lost 12-1 to the Elk Rapids Elks. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Vikings have suffered against the Elks since May 23, 2022.

Grayling saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kendra Allen, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Allen has hit this season.

Grayling's loss dropped their record down to 14-6-1. As for Elk Rapids, the win (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 24-3.

While Grayling had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
