It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Leander ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Glenn Grizzlies 28-27. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grizzlies, too.
Leander got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Montgomery out in front who rushed for 148 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 80 yards and one TD. Those 148 rushing yards gave Montgomery a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Ke'Marion Gordon, who rushed for 123 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
