Soccer Recap: Charlestown Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Harrison on Thursday, Charlestown came back down to earth. The Pirates fell just short of the New Albany Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for Charlestown in their meetings with New Albany: they've now lost five in a row.

Charlestown's goal came courtesy of Raviv Joseph, who's now up to four this season.

Charlestown's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for New Albany, they moved to 5-10 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Charlestown has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Clarksville on the 30th. As for New Albany, they will take on Jennings County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. New Albany will be up against Jennings County's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.93 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
