Basketball Recap: Stockton's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Stockton fought the good fight in their overtime match against Galena on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 49-41 to the Galena Pirates. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Stockton still got an impressive performance from Madie Mammoser, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. Mammoser is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Winters, who posted seven points and three steals.

Stockton's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-8. As for Galena, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9.

Stockton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-33 victory against Warren on the 30th. Galena has also already played their next game, a 73-21 win against West Carroll on the 30th.
