Preview: Clyde Bulldogs vs. Breckenridge Buckaroos
After two games on the road, Clyde is heading back home. They will take on The Breckenridge Buckaroos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Clyde is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Breckenridge in Texas (Clyde is ranked 242nd, while Breckenridge is ranked 524th).
Last Friday, Clyde came up short against Iowa Park and fell 21-13.
Clyde's loss came about despite a quality game from Blake Carr, who rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 101 yards and a touchdown. Carr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
Breckenridge can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 28-21 win over Bowie. The victory was just what Breckenridge needed coming off of a 42-14 loss in their prior match.
Breckenridge's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Alexis Franco, who rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns, and Jaime Cruz, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Iowa Park's win bumped their season record to 4-5 while Clyde's loss dropped theirs to 8-1.
Clyde took a serious blow against Breckenridge in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 50-20. Will Clyde have more luck at home instead of on the road?
