Baseball Game Preview: Marshalltown Bobcats vs. Newton Cardinals

The Marshalltown Bobcats will head out to square off against the Newton Cardinals at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Newton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marshalltown, who comes in off a win.

Newton will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Marshalltown extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Bobcats came out on top against North Tama by a score of 5-1.

Meanwhile, Newton didn't have quite enough to beat Bondurant-Farrar on Friday and fell 8-7. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Bluejays: they've now lost three in a row.

Newton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Marshalltown, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Marshalltown suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Newton in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
