Basketball Recap: Gaithersburg Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gaithersburg can now relate to. They took a blow against the Walter Johnson Wildcats on Friday, falling 56-17. The Trojans have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walter Johnson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elizabeth Martin, who posted ten points. Naamiah Corke was another key player, putting up five points and 14 rebounds.

Gaithersburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Walter Johnson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Gaithersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Walter Johnson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-35 defeat against Churchill on the 3rd.
