Baseball Recap: Triton Finds Home Field Redemption Against Westover

Triton's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Scotland on Tuesday. Triton's pitcher stepped up to hand the Westover Wolverines a 10-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won eight in a row.

Westover's batters probably weren't too happy with Tyler Blankenbecler, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 14 Ks (he gave up three walks). The dominant performance also gave Blankenbecler a new career-low in hits (zero).

On the hitting side, William Meredith was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Zach Roberson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one stolen base.

Triton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Triton now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Westover, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Westover will face off against Western Harnett at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Triton will be paying especially close attention to Westover's game: after Westover faces off against Western Harnett, they'll take on Triton again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
