Recap: Richland County Tigers vs. Mt. Carmel Golden Aces
The Richland County Tigers struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces had 18 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Richland County took a 45-26 bruising from Mt. Carmel. Richland County has not had much luck with Mt. Carmel recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kyrstin Weiler, who scored eight points. GRAYCE BURGENER was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Maycee Randall was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 21 rebounds for Mt. Carmel. Randall has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Stevens, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Richland County now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Mt. Carmel, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Richland County will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Paris at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Mt. Carmel, they will square off against Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Illinois (Robinson is ranked 109th, while Mt. Carmel is ranked 96th).
