It's playoff time, and Waco Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 36-23 win over the Mercy Prep Academy Royals on Friday. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won six matches in a row.

Waco Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zeriya Potts, who posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Potts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Abi Arenas was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

Waco Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Mercy Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Myra Nelsen had seven points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Stuart, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Waco Christian's record is now 8-5. As for Mercy Prep Academy, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Waco Christian has already played their next game, a 57-16 defeat against Grayson Christian on the 15th. As for Mercy Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 56-39 loss against Excel Christian Academy on the 15th.
