Softball Recap: Perry County Central Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

While Perry County Central's win against Hazard wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Commodores narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Commodores.

Jossie Mullins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mikayla Shepherd was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Perry County Central's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-10. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Hazard, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.
