Baseball Recap: Fredericksburg Comes Up Short

Fredericksburg lost against Wimberley last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Billies fell just short of the Texans by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Billies have suffered against the Texans since April 11, 2023.

Holt Herber made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Fredericksburg is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 3.25 runs. As for Wimberley, they pushed their record up to 14-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Fredericksburg will take on rival Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Wimberley is set to challenge their familiar foe Navarro at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Texans 4.1, the Panthers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
