 West Scranton is 1-9 against North Pocono since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The West Scranton Invaders will be playing at home against the North Pocono Trojans at 4:30  p.m. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
 West Scranton fought the good fight in their extra-innings  game against Wallenpaupack Area  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Buckhorns by a score of  4-2. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest  runs West Scranton has scored all season.
 West Scranton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  AJ Levandoski, who  went 1-for-3 with a  triple and two  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Sunday just wasn't the day for North Pocono's offense. They fell just short of Scranton Prep by a score of  2-0 on Sunday. Having soared to a lofty ten  runs in the game before, North Pocono's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
  Cole Dymek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned  (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up seven Ks.
 West Scranton's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for North Pocono, their  defeat was their first of the  season and makes their record 2-1.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. West Scranton has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 10.2  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like North Pocono struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 9. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 West Scranton came up short against North Pocono in their previous matchup  back in May of 2023, falling  4-0. Thankfully for West Scranton,  Gavin Chillot (who   didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched) won't be suiting up this time.
