Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Knights vs. Big Bear Bears
The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 72-61 to Big Bear. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (57), Academy for Academic Excellence still had to take the loss.
Brennen Berge was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals for Big Bear. Berge hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Ryder Dolan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Academy for Academic Excellence has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Big Bear, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 19-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy for Academic Excellence will take on Hesperia Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hesperia Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 34 on Friday. As for Big Bear, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against University Prep at 6:00 p.m. University Prep is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
