Football Game Preview: Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers vs. Wake Prep Academy Guardians

The Bartlett Yancey Buccaneers will take on the Wake Prep Academy Guardians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bartlett Yancey gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They managed a 34-30 win over Carver. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Bartlett Yancey can attribute much of their success to Keith Nunnally-Mayo, who threw for 131 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown.

Bartlett Yancey didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Carver to a completion percentage of just 35.3%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Nunnally-Mayo, Jeshua Garland, and Dalleon Johnson, who each logged one passes deflected. Bartlett Yancey wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 50%.

Meanwhile, while Wake Prep Academy put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Louisburg. The Guardians put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 26-0 victory. Considering the Guardians have won four contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bartlett Yancey better focus on containing Kato Muhammad and Landyn Roberts as the pair were huge in Wake Prep Academy's win. Muhammad picked up 101 receiving yards and one score, while Roberts rushed for 56 yards and one TD. Muhammad got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 55 yards.

Bartlett Yancey's record now sits at 3-7. As for Wake Prep Academy, their record is now 6-3.
