Baseball Recap: Southern Wake Academy Lions vs. Thales Academy Apex Titans
Southern Wake Academy had lost 17 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-10 to make it 18. They lost 12-2 to the Thales Academy Apex Titans. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Titans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.
As for Thales Academy Apex, their record now sits at 9-5. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.
For Thales Academy Apex's part, Louis Olsen made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Olsen has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Thales Academy Apex's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-5 when he doesn't).
