Softball Recap: Perkins Comes Up Short

Perkins fell victim to Lexington and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 16-0 to the Minutemen. The Pirates have struggled against the Minutemen recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Perkins' defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Lexington, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perkins will take on Sandusky at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Streaks have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Lexington, they will head out on the road to square off against Ashland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Minutemen are facing the Arrows at the right time seeing as the Arrows are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
