Baseball Recap: Battle Mountain Comes Up Short

If Battle Mountain was feeling good fresh off their 16-9 takedown of Rifle on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Husky took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aspen Skiers on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kia Tipton made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Battle Mountain has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10-1 record this season. As for Aspen, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.

As of now, neither Battle Mountain nor the Skiers have any future games scheduled.
