Basketball Recap: St. Edward Comes Up Short

St. Edward was the 62-55 winner over Louisville when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Edward Eagles lost 67-43 to the Louisville Leopards on Friday. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Louisville was led to victory by Brayden Gross and Tate Aljancic. Gross went 7 for 9 on his way to 20 points and seven boards, while Aljancic went 6 of 9 en route to 18 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Avery Andrejcik, who posted 12 points.

St. Edward's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Louisville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

St. Edward didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-47 win against Warrensville Heights on the 26th. As for Louisville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 86-50 victory against Marlington on the 28th.
