Basketball Recap: East Central Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

East Central posted their closest win since December 6, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Franklin County Wildcats 33-31. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

East Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joel Richter, who posted ten points. Liam Rogers was another key player, putting up seven points.

Despite the loss, Franklin County still got an impressive performance from Brady Foster, who scored ten points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Allen, who had eight points.

East Central's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Franklin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

East Central will be playing at home against South Dearborn at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering East Central has lost three straight at home and South Dearborn four straight on the road , this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum. As for Franklin County, they will venture away from home to square off against Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
