It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Wheeler had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shepaug Valley Spartans and snuck past 3-1. The win was nothing new for Wheeler as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Sean Bergel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't pitched less than five innings in five consecutive pitching appearances.

At the plate, Bradin Anderson was excellent, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Mason Perkins was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

On Shepaug Valley's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rocco Smith, who went 1-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI.
