Softball Recap: Hanford Falls Short Against Ranked Richland

Hanford faced Richland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Falcons came up short against the Bombers, falling 8-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hanford saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haylee Velasco, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Velasco is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Hanford's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3. As for Richland, the win keeps they at an undefeated 11-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hanford will challenge rival Kamiakin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Richland is set to square off against their familiar foe Southridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bombers are on a three-game streak of home wins, the Suns a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
