Softball Game Preview: Wheeling Park Patriots vs. Morgantown Mohigans

The Wheeling Park Patriots will head out to face off against the Morgantown Mohigans at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Wheeling Park nor Morgantown posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Wheeling Park's offense. They came up short against St. Marys on Saturday, falling 8-0.

Wheeling Park saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Delaney Randolph, who went 1-for-2 with one triple. That triple was Randolph's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Morgantown faced Washington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mohigans lost 7-0 to the Patriots. The Mohigans' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Morgantown's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Wheeling Park, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.
