Football Game Preview: Ellsworth/Sumner vs. Bucksport

After two weeks on the road, Bucksport is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Ellsworth/Sumner at 7:00 PM. Bucksport will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Bucksport might be getting used to good results now that the team has three wins in a row. They steamrollered Orono 61-22. Followers of Bucksport probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.

Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Ellsworth/Sumner, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to three. They took a serious blow against Mattanawcook last Friday, falling 0-54. The state rankings had actually given Ellsworth/Sumner a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.

Bucksport's win lifted them to 6-1 while Ellsworth/Sumner's loss dropped them down to 3-4. We'll find out if Bucksport can add another positive mark to their record or if Ellsworth/Sumner can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Bucksport's step.
