Volleyball Game Preview: Ruston Bearcats vs. Jackson Academy Raiders

After both having extra time off, the Ruston Bearcats and the Jackson Academy Raiders will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Jackson Academy will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Ruston extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday. Everything went the Bearcats' way against Haughton as they made off with a 3-0 win.

Ruston was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 25-11.

Jackson Prep typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Jackson Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-18.

Ruston better focus on containing Anna Holladay Craft and Lillie Henson as the pair were huge in Jackson Academy's win. Craft had 22 digs and two aces, while Henson had six digs and six aces. Craft has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played.

Jackson Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in eight consecutive matches.

Ruston's record is now 12-7. As for Jackson Academy, their record now sits at 29-9-1.
