Soccer Game Preview: North Fort Myers vs. Cape Coral

North Fort Myers hasn't had much luck against Cape Coral recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The North Fort Myers Red Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Cape Coral Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. North Fort Myers will be strutting in after a win while Cape Coral will be coming in after a loss.

North Fort Myers headed into their last match having not scored more than one goal for four straight, but Island Coast let them put that streak behind them. North Fort Myers never let Island Coast onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory on Monday. That looming 4-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Knights yet this season.

Owen Lewis and Meyer Erickson scored all four of North Fort Myers' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, Cape Coral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting South Fort Myers an easy 5-1 win.

North Fort Myers' victory bumped their record up to 3-8-2. As for Cape Coral, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11-1.

North Fort Myers was able to grind out a solid win over Cape Coral in their previous meeting back in January, winning 2-0. Does North Fort Myers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cape Coral turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
