Preview: Tell City Marksmen vs. Pike Central Chargers
The Tell City Marksmen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pike Central Chargers at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Tell City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Tell City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cannelton 68-35 at home. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Meanwhile, Pike Central made easy work of Tecumseh on Tuesday and carried off a 71-50 victory. Given Pike Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while Tecumseh is ranked 381st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tell City's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-17. As for Pike Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.
