Softball Recap: Whitehall's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Whitehall ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Osseo-Fairchild Thunder 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Norse as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Regan Clatt spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Whitehall saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harlow Foss, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That double was Foss' first of the season.

Whitehall's win bumped their record up to 3-10. As for Osseo-Fairchild, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitehall will square off against Alma Center Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Norse are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Osseo-Fairchild, they will face off against Melrose-Mindoro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
