Football Recap: Bay City Blackcats vs. Davenport Wolves
Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bay City couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (34-19), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Wolves are ranked 80th).

Several Blackcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keimarion Wiggins, who threw for 196 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 85 yards. A healthy portion of Wiggins' aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Jordan Johnson.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Davenport to victory, but perhaps none more so than Barrett Fallon, who rushed for 100 yards and three touchdowns. Fallon is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tristan Torrez, who threw for 202 yards while completing 73.1% of his passes.
Bay City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Davenport, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Bay City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Davenport, they will take on La Vernia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Fallon and TY CARTER.
