Football Game Preview: Edison Red Raiders vs. Homestead Broncos

Two dominant signal callers in Rakyia Louis and Jerniyah Fowles are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Edison Red Raiders will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Homestead Broncos at 3:30 p.m. Edison will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Edison's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Braddock 38-0. Considering the Red Raiders have won seven contests by more than 27 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Homestead was able to grind out a solid win over Northwestern on Wednesday, taking the game 14-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Edison's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.9 points on average over those games. As for Homestead, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Edison and Homestead were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in April of 2024, but Edison suffered an agonizing 27-26 loss. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Fowles, who threw for 97 yards and three TDs, and also punched in one score on the ground.
