Basketball Recap: Illiana Christian Victorious

Illiana Christian won the last time they faced Calumet New Tech, and Abbie Ritzema did her part to make sure it happened again. The Illiana Christian Vikings took their matchup on Saturday with ease, bagging a 53-13 win over the Calumet New Tech Warriors thanks in part to Ritzema, who went 8 of 16 on her way to 19 points along with eight boards and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Amariah Allison, who posted six points and nine rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January.

The victory got Illiana Christian back to even at 5-5. As for Calumet New Tech, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

When Illiana Christian and Calumet New Tech next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Illiana Christian will try to stop Munster's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Calumet New Tech will try to stop Griffith's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
