Basketball Game Preview: Oak Hill Raiders vs. Spruce Mountain Phoenix

Oak Hill hasn't had much luck against Spruce Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Raiders will square off against the Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Oak Hill comes in on six and Spruce Mountain on nine.

Oak Hill had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 24-point drubbing they dealt Boothbay on Wednesday. The Raiders blew past the Seahawks 63-39.

Meanwhile, Spruce Mountain made easy work of Winthrop on Wednesday and carried off a 59-33 victory. The Phoenix have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Spruce Mountain's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Oak Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Oak Hill took a serious blow against Spruce Mountain when the teams last played back in January of 2025, falling 90-61. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
